About hair quality

Real or synthetic hair

There is a lot of difference in the quality of hair on the market. First of all, we would like to exclude synthetic hair from this discussion. Synthetic hair has nothing to do with real hair extensions. If you have bought hair and you are unsure if it is real hair, just burn a little bit of the hair. If it is synthetic hair it will burn giving black smoke and what will remain is a sticky ball. If you see white smoke and ashes after it burned, at least you bought real hair.

Remy hair

Remi hair

Remy hair, aka remy cuticle hair or cuticle hair is considered the finest quality of human hair. With this kind of hair, the direction of the hairs are preserved. The cuticles are kept intact and aligning them in a unidirectional fashion creates extensions that are completely natural in appearance. This process ensures that the hair remains super soft, shiny, silky and completely tangle-free throughout its lifetime.

Virgin hairs

are not stripped as will happen with non remy hair. All the hair strans are kept in one direction. Most of the times, remy hair comes from a single donor. By preserving the hair's cuticles and by aligning them in a unidirectional fashion, the hair will be completely natural in appearance. This process ensures that the hair remains super soft, silky, shiny and tangle-free throughout its lifetime.
If hair has not been treated chemicaly at all it is called virgin hair. If the hair for instance has been coloured or chemicaly altered to curl, it cannot be virgin hair.

The lifespan of the human hair are almost as long as you want it to be. If you buy remy hair which have been installed properly and you look after them carefully, it is common for quality extensions to last up to twelve months.  The more carefully you look after them the longer they will last.
